Police intensify security across Kano, Jigawa ahead of Eid al-Kabir

The Zone One Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Kano has urged residents of Kano and Jigawa states to remain vigilant during the Eid al-Kabir festivities.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone One, Garba Ahmed, said security had been strengthened across Kano and Jigawa states in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
“In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the Zone has activated robust security measures to guarantee a peaceful celebration. Deployments have been made by the commands under the zone to strategic locations across the zone. Patrols, surveillance, and intelligence operations have also been intensified to deter and respond to any security threat,” the statement said.
“The AIG urges residents to remain law-abiding and vigilant. He calls on the public to keep cooperating with the police and report suspicious persons, movements, and objects promptly to the nearest police division. Parents and guardians are advised to monitor their wards and ensure they do not engage in conduct that may breach public peace,” it added.
The Zone One Police Headquarters further reassured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property and wished Muslims a peaceful and safe Eid al-Kabir celebration.
