A statement signed by Luqman Adamu, Communications Officer, AdvoKC Foundation, said that the commitments were made during a high-level political roundtable organised by The Kukah Centre and the National Peace Committee ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
As part of the engagement, Adamu said that the AdvoKC Foundation introduced “The Ekiti We Deserve: Women and Youth Manifesto,” to political stakeholders and engaged directly with aspirants on the need for inclusive governance and citizen-centred leadership in Ekiti State.
According to Adamu, a roundtable, held in Ado-Ekiti, convened political aspirants, party representatives, members of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), civil society organisations, peace-building actors, youth advocates, and electoral stakeholders to promote peaceful political participation, issue-based campaigns, and violence-free elections.
Adamu said that following strategic advocacy engagements during the roundtable, the aspirants committed to the manifesto and its core demands for responsive governance, youth participation, women’s representation, and inclusive development.
“Developed through extensive grassroots consultations, the manifesto captures the voices, experiences, and policy priorities of more than 1,600 residents across all the 16 local government areas of the state. It presents clear and practical policy recommendations focused on infrastructure and utilities, economic inclusion, healthcare, education, social development, political participation, transparency, accountability, and the inclusion of women and young people in governance,” the statement added.
While speaking on the significance of the engagement, Zayyad Musa, Programme Manager at AdvoKC Foundation, noted that the commitments reflect growing recognition among political stakeholders on the importance of policies that directly address the realities and aspirations of women and young people in Ekiti State.
Musa also stressed the importance of connecting peace-building efforts with governance conversations, noting that sustainable democratic development depends not only on peaceful elections, but also on accountable leadership, inclusive policies, and active citizen participation.
He noted that the engagement further strengthened relationships between AdvoKC Foundation and key political and civic stakeholders in Ekiti State, creating opportunities for continued dialogue around governance reform, democratic accountability, and citizen participation ahead of the elections.
By securing endorsements from aspirants across multiple political parties, Musa said that AdvoKC Foundation has positioned the manifesto as a credible, non-partisan framework for governance discussions and electoral accountability in Ekiti State.
Following this milestone, he noted that the Foundation would continue engagements with political candidates, parties, and stakeholders across the state to deepen support for the manifesto and encourage the integration of its recommendations into campaign agendas and future governance priorities.
AdvoKC Foundation also called on all the remaining governorship candidates in Ekiti State to review, adopt, and publicly commit to the manifesto as part of broader efforts to build a more inclusive, accountable, and people-centred future for the state.
