Actor Robert Pattinson is stepping into the shoes of Chris Hansen in the upcoming Primetime, and fans are already talking about his shocking transformation.
A24 released the first trailer for the film on Wednesday, giving viewers a glimpse of Pattinson portraying the real-life investigative journalist behind NBC’s controversial “To Catch a Predator” series.
Set in 2006, the movie follows Hansen as he attempts to make television history through the infamous hidden-camera sting operations targeting adults seeking encounters with minors online.
Beyond his physical transformation, Pattinson also adopts Hansen’s signature speaking style and voice in the trailer. In one tense moment, he asks, “What would have happened if I weren’t here? You see how this looks, right?”
The dark and suspenseful preview also features scenes of alleged online predators being confronted on camera, recreating the unsettling atmosphere that made the original series a cultural phenomenon.
