The 3-day Masterclass Upstream & Offshore Energy Insurance Program scheduled to be held from July 27 to 29, 2026, is for Oil and Gas Companies, Insurance & Reassurance Companies, Insurance Brokers, Loss adjusters, Content lawyers, NCDMB & Regulators, and Energy & Risk Managers.
The fulcrum of the 3-day programme will revolve around gains in practical understanding of energy exploration risks, including what underwriters insure during drilling operations, reservoir penetration activities, drilling circulation system, causes of kicks & blowouts, operators extra expense coverage and the evolution of energy and development (EED 8/88) policy wordings.
Others are understanding how Underwriter structure and evaluate Control of Well Insurance (Sections A, B &C), including Drilling Extra Expenses, Seapage & Pollution, Clean-up and Contamination Liabilities, major risks considerations, premium rating method and key underwriting factors.
According to Brickred Consult & West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA), participants will be exposed to how to develop the ability to access energy risks and understand applicable insurance policies’ conditions and clauses.
This will enable them to gain a clear understanding of FPSO function and components, including the management of Subsea, Umbilical, Risers & Flowlines (SURF) in offshore operations and the risks across LNG pipeline and tankers, including Hull and Liability exposures.
