UK-Based Nigerian Man Goes Viral Over Alleged Relationship Betrayal, Claims Loss of Visa, Assets

A Nigerian man based in the United Kingdom, identified as Franklyn, has sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing a deeply emotional account of an alleged relationship betrayal that he claims cost him his visa status, finances, and mental stability.

In a lengthy post that has since gone viral, Franklyn recounted how he supported his former partner’s relocation and settlement in the UK, including funding her professional registration, preparing her for IELTS exams, assisting with her academic work, and securing employment that led to her Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

According to him, the relationship later deteriorated after he allegedly discovered her involvement with another man in Manchester.

Franklyn claimed the situation escalated when his partner reported him to the police over alleged domestic abuse—an accusation he strongly denies. The report, he said, led to his arrest, court appearances, and ultimately the loss of his five-year visa.

> “I’ve never hit a woman,” he wrote, insisting that while an argument did occur, his actions were limited to damaging personal items in anger.

He further alleged that the legal battle forced him to sell off properties in Nigeria, including a house in Lagos, to cover legal fees and avoid imprisonment.

Beyond the legal and financial consequences, Franklyn described severe emotional trauma, including panic attacks and ongoing therapy. He said the betrayal was compounded by discovering explicit messages between his former partner and another man—messages he claims he documented.

The viral post has triggered intense debate online, with many users expressing sympathy, while others called for caution, noting that the claims remain one-sided and unverified.

Relationship experts and commentators say the case highlights broader issues around trust, migration pressures, and the legal vulnerabilities faced by immigrants in domestic disputes abroad.

As of now, there has been no public response from the woman involved, and authorities have not released any official statement regarding the allegations.
