YPP Affirms Theman As Guber Candidate For 2027 Adamawa Election

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) has affirmed Hon. Wafarniyi Theman, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Adamawa State, alongside other candidates for elective positions.
The party’s national secretary and chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Vediyeno Bamaiyi, announced the affirmation during the party’s state congress and governorship primaries held at Bridgewood Hotel in Yola.
Bamaiyi, who led other national officers to supervise the exercise on Friday, said the party had activated its Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism ahead of the 2027 elections, adding that YPP currently has no court cases or aggrieved members.
“YPP is going into the 2027 general elections more united without any factions or aggrieved members,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the party would perform strongly across different levels of the 2027 elections.
In his acceptance speech, Theman said his ambition was driven by the desire to reduce poverty in Adamawa State and promote broad-based economic transformation.
He pledged to deploy his political experience to drive development and improve livelihoods across the state.
Theman, a former APC chieftain, previously served as Secretary of the APC in Adamawa State from 2019 to 2023 and participated in the party’s 2023 governorship primary.
The congress also produced other state officials and senatorial candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
