Abu Huraira, Ba Yuram, Mallam Haruna Top ISIS Lieutenants Killed In US-Nigeria Airstrikes
Fresh intelligence from security sources has confirmed that the joint Nigerian-United States air operation that killed senior ISWAP commander Abubakar Mainok, also known as Abu Bilal Al-Mainuki or Abbor Mainok, also eliminated three of his closest aides.
The three lieutenants were identified as Abu Huraira, Ba Yuram and Mallam Haruna.
Sources said their deaths amounted to a major disruption of ISWAP’s command structure in the Lake Chad Basin.
According to the sources, battle damage assessments and multiple intelligence confirmations showed that Mainok was killed alongside the three aides during a precision strike on his hideout in the Lake Chad Islands west of Dogon Chukun.
The sources described the slain aides as key figures in the group’s operational, logistics and security network.
Abu Huraira was said to be the Fiya of Tumbun Mota and son-in-law to Mainok.
He reportedly played a major role in coordinating field operations and maintaining influence over fighters operating around the Tumbun Mota axis.
Ba Yuram was described as a powerful Amir responsible for logistics, procurement, weapons acquisition, supplies and transportation networks across ISWAP enclaves in the Lake Chad Basin.
Security sources told Zagagola Makama his death could significantly weaken the group’s ability to move weapons, supplies and resources across its operational zones.
Mallam Haruna reportedly served as Mainok’s personal bodyguard and chief security officer.
Sources said he coordinated the slain commander’s movements between insurgent enclaves and managed his security arrangements.
Security sources said the elimination of the four men in one strike created a major leadership vacuum within ISWAP.
They added that the operation destroyed a strategic command cell responsible for leadership coordination, logistics management, operational planning and security protection.
The latest confirmations add to the growing list of senior ISWAP figures reportedly killed during sustained Nigeria-US operations in the Lake Chad axis.
Among those said to have died was Abubakar Buduma, described as the Qa’id of Kirta Wulgo, who reportedly succumbed to injuries from an earlier strike.
Several foreign ISIS-linked fighters, including Arab nationals allegedly involved in drone operations, were also said to have been killed.
Naijaonpoint understands that security assessments indicated that the death of Ba Yuram, combined with the destruction of logistics warehouses, vehicles and supply depots, could seriously affect ISWAP’s operational capacity.
Sources said the strikes had disrupted the group’s ability to sustain large-scale attacks across the Lake Chad Basin.
