Benue Monarch, Tor Tiv, Pledges To Assist EFCC In The Fight Against Insecurity

The Tor Tiv and the Chairman, Benue State Council of Chiefs and Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ortese Ayatse, CFR, has pledged his support in the fight against the menace of economic and financial crimes in the country.
The paramount ruler expressed his support while playing host to the Acting Zonal Director, Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE I Effa Imoh Okim, at his Palace in Gboko, Benue State.
While acknowledging the Commission’s good work in the fight against corruption, the Tor Tiv said, “I will not relent in supporting the EFCC in stamping out corruption in Nigeria”.
Earlier, ACE I Effa thanked the Royal father for his blessing, as he called on him to deepen the partnership with the Commission through advocacy of Anti-corruption messages.
In a related development, the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering, SCUML, conducted a one-day capacity and training workshop for Local Government Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officers of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, across all the 17 local governments in Taraba State.
The one-day training, which was held at the Medical and Health Workers Union Hall, Jalingo, Taraba State, was aimed at promoting awareness among citizens and seeking to ensure compliance with the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act.
