CapitalSage Vantage Signs Agreement to Acquire Chimoney, Expanding Global Financial Infrastructure Across 130+ Countries

CapitalSage Vantage, the focused holding entity for CapitalSage Holdings’ cross-border payments and digital-asset wealth management businesses, has signed an agreement to acquire Chi Technologies Inc. (Chimoney), a Toronto-based payments infrastructure provider with operations spanning more than 130 countries.

The acquisition represents a strategic expansion of CapitalSage Vantage’s international payments capabilities and strengthens its ambition to build a globally connected African-rooted financial ecosystem spanning Africa, North America, Europe, and the Middle

Through the transaction, CapitalSage Vantage is expected to deepen its cross-border payments infrastructure, expand regulatory reach, and enhance service delivery for consumers, businesses, and developers operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Chimoney’s infrastructure currently supports multi-currency wallets, global payouts, developer APIs, and digital identity solutions. Following completion of the acquisition, the company will continue to operate within the CapitalSage Vantage ecosystem while maintaining service continuity for existing customers and partners.

Commenting on the transaction, Chimoney Founder Uchi Uchibeke said the deal positions the company for accelerated growth.

“Chimoney is continuing its journey with greater scale and institutional backing. The technology, team, products and customer relationships that made Chimoney a trusted platform remain firmly in place. What changes is our ability to accelerate growth, expand into new markets and create greater value through the broader CapitalSage Vantage ecosystem,” he said.

Group GCEO of CapitalSage Vantage, Abiola Bawuah, described the acquisition as foundational to a new phase of African-linked global financial infrastructure.

“This acquisition creates the foundation for a new generation of financial services platforms designed to serve Africans globally, connecting diaspora users with families, businesses and opportunities across the continent through a more integrated financial ecosystem,” she said.

CapitalSage Vantage’s portfolio spans international payments, remittance services, and digital wealth management, with strategic operations across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and several African markets.

The combined platform is expected to accelerate innovation in cross-border payments, embedded finance, business payments, digital commerce, and fintech infrastructure, while reinforcing Africa’s growing influence in global financial technology development.

Completion of the acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
