Chief Richard Adegboyega Abiodun coronated Amona of Ojoduland as major traditional Obas grace his 50th birthday celebrations

Chief Richard Adegboyega Abiodun, a philanthropist, consummate and accomplished electronics-technology security, training and marketing communications professional, has been installed as Amona of Ojoduland by HRH Oba Samuel Shobowale-Benson, the Olojodu of Ojoduland in Lagos on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Chief Richard, who also celebrated his 50th birthday together with the installation, is the Founder & Managing Director/CEO of both Beta Bridges Ltd (BBL) and Beta Bridges Training Institute (BBTI).

During the installation, the Paramount Ruler of Ojoduland, HRM  Oba Samuel Shobowale-Johnson ( Onigbakule Lubajo 1), the Olojodu of Ojoduland, affirmed that Chief Richard’s accomplishments in his career, philanthropic and development impacts on youth and communities where he resides and does business are impressive.

“He is a leading light in the tracking industry of finding what is lost and finding what can be better, so when I was considering to fill the traditional stool of AMỌ̀NÀ in the Ojodu Kingdom, Chief Richard Abiodun ticks all the right boxes and I installed Chief Richard Abiodun and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Bolajoko Abiodun the Yeye Amona of Ojoduland as part of the Council of Chiefs, as I lead the light of progress and development of Ojoduland, town and kingdom.

In her remarks, Chief Guest of Honour, the  Commandant, Police College Ikeja, AIG Omolara  Oloruntoba, who was ably represented by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Ibrahim Ajanaku, declared that this is a celebration of a journey filled with achievements, valuable relationships, and meaningful contributions to family, community, and society.

“Today, we are not only celebrating a birthday, but we are also celebrating a man whose character, humility, generosity, and commitment to humanity have inspired admiration for people across different walks of life. Chief Richard has demonstrated that true success is measured not only by personal accomplishments, but also by the positive impact one makes in the lives of others. Ladies and gentlemen, Chief Richard has done a lot of valuable things for his people, community, and the general public in his own capacity, and that is why this hall is filled with family members, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers who have come to celebrate him. Chief Richard trained under our College, and during his era, he was the G1 overall head of his set, during which he provided leadership for major landmark projects never seen in the College, as well as quality administration

Your presence is a reflection of the love and respect Richard enjoys. Congratulations to Chief Richard,” the AIG Oloruntola concluded.

In his remarks, Chief Richard Adegboyega Folajuwon Abiodun gave thanks to God Almighty for the 50-year feat. “It is not everyone that got my kind of privilege to turn around their stories, alive, hearty and still progressing. Since life put me through chaos at an unprepared tender age, I have come to learn that mistakes also produce great designs. And I should have been mistaken, standing here today to have risen beyond the mistakes, to make meaning to my life and many more lives that I have touched in 50 years.

In his further remarks, Chief Richard commended his parents, Late High Chief S.I. Abiodun, the last Obaji-odo of Ise-Ekiti and the second-in-command to the Oba Arinjale of Ise-Ekiti, and his mother, late Mrs J.F. Abiodun. He praised family, friends and associates who gave him a chance for life. And in his closing remarks, thanked his wife, Chief (Mrs) Bolajoko Abiodun for her unflinching support in their lives

“Gratitude is always my attitude, forgiveness is my watchword, daily learnings through my effort to beat my better yesterday keep me going, and I thank you too, adversities that shape me all the way; if your adversities were not haunting me all the way, driving me crazy with a point to always prove, I would not have had sufficient motivations to be great. There is not one good thing I did in life without adversities having a duel with me, but I triumph always. Everything now makes sense today; I am 50 and counting, and I celebrate it intentionally by God’s grace and my stories of motun rabi.

Later on at the birthday celebrations, more and more dignitaries trooped in to the 50th Birthday event of Chief Richard to celebrate him including 4 Royal Kings from their respective kingdoms in Lagos and Ogun States, namely HRM Oba Samuel Shobowale-Benson, the Oba Olojodu of Ojoduland and his wife, the Olori Shobowale-Benson; Oba Engr Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade, The Olofin Isheri Mole, and Adimula Of Awori Kingdom; Oba Dr Olukunmi Olusesan Akingbola Ikudoro, The Olu of Oregun Kingdom; Oba Shakirudeen Adeshina Kuti, The Elewu of Ewu Land. The event was also well attended by several royal chiefs from across Lagos and Ogun states, senior clergy of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, business, media and entertainment industry.

Recently, on his birthday in June 2026, through his Adegboyega Richard Abiodun (ARA) Foundation, he engaged in a number of charity projects with the Primary Health Centre of Ojodu, including the donation of hospital beds, hospital mattresses, hospital pillows, bedsheets, pillow cases,  ceiling fans and metal reception sets of chairs and wall clocks. He also visited the Fowowe Memorial Orphanage homes at Oke-ira, Ogba, where he celebrated with the abandoned and other vulnerable children, by donations of food supplies, medical supplies, toiletries, and diapers. Earlier in the month, Chief Amona had sponsored a cancer awareness campaign and outreach within the Ikorodu axis in memory of his mother who died of Cancer some years ago.

Prior to Beta Bridges, Richard is an achiever with several years of active experience leading marketing & communication deliverables for diverse clients & companies, including MTN, Wema Bank, Globacom, Conoil, Pfizer, Coca-Cola, UBA, Maersk, Procter & Gamble. He completed his working career at Halogen Security as Head of Business Development & Marketing before switching to entrepreneur to start Beta Bridges, an NCC licensed firm in July 2013

He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (formerly b) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing (NIM); He regularly donates to charity, and he is married to Bola with 2 sons.
