A Ukrainian attack has killed at least three people and wounded seven others in the Crimean Peninsula, authorities said.
“According to preliminary reports, three people have been killed and seven others injured as a result of an enemy strike on non-residential buildings in Simferopol,” the head of the region, Sergey Aksyonov, wrote on Telegram.
Aksyonov did not specify what kind of attack it was.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday that Kiev struck key Russian facilities in overnight attacks, including the St Petersburg Oil Terminal, as officials gathered for a flagship economic forum in St Petersburg.
The facility is located about 1,100 kilometres from Ukraine’s border, Zelenskyy wrote on X, highlighting Kiev’s long-range strike capabilities.
He added that Ukrainian forces also hit military targets at Russia’s Kronstadt base.
