Curaçao vs Côte d’Ivoire Match preview

By Daniel Akinte
The stakes are high for both sides. A victory guarantees qualification for either team, while a draw would be enough for Côte d’Ivoire to progress. For Curaçao, however, only three points will keep their World Cup dream alive.
The Elephants opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ecuador before suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Germany after conceding late in the game. Nevertheless, Emerse Faé’s side has shown quality, discipline, and attacking threat throughout the tournament.

Germany demolishes Curaçao in 7-1 World Cup opening statement
Curaçao, making its first-ever World Cup appearance, has emerged as one of the surprise stories of the competition.
After a crushing 7-1 defeat to Germany in their opening match, many expected their campaign to end quietly. Instead, they produced a resilient defensive display to hold Ecuador to a goalless draw and earn their first World Cup point.
Much of that result was down to goalkeeper Eloy Room, who delivered an outstanding performance by making 15 saves. His heroics helped Curaçao survive relentless pressure and keep their qualification hopes alive heading into the final group match.
On paper, Côte d’Ivoire possesses greater quality, experience, and attacking depth. While Curaçao’s determination and defensive organization deserve praise, it will take an extraordinary effort to contain the Elephants for ninety minutes.
