Secretariat Membership Club celebrated Democracy Day 2026 in grand style, with members turning out in large numbers alongside family and friends. The Club grounds reflected unity, colour, and purpose.
- Opening & Patriotism
The event opened with a proud display of the National and Club flags. Both National and Club Anthems were rendered with full respect, setting a patriotic tone for the day.

The President, Otunba Ayodeji Randle, gave a warm welcome address, followed by a media interview with the Club General Secretary, Prince Emmanuel Bepo Adesuyi. The interactive session gave members clarity on Club activities and democratic values in action.

Two invited lecturers delivered thought-provoking lectures on Democracy and Club Management Importance. Their insights connected national democratic principles to how SMC runs as a member-driven institution built on Harmony, Progress and Recreation.
- Remembrance & Prayers
We paused to honour past Nigerian heroes and departed Club members. Special recognition and prayers were offered for their service to the nation and Club by Mr Taiwo Obileye. May their souls rest in peace
- Appreciation & Hospitality
The Club Vice President, Asiwaju Engr. Yomi Shogbolu, gave the vote of appreciation, thanking Patrons, Trustees, Exco, speakers, sponsors, members, and guests. The day was rounded off with enough provisions and gifts for everyone who attended — a true reflection of SMC’s spirit of generosity.
From the anthems to the lectures, from tributes to fellowship, Democracy Day 2026 reinforced why SMC remains a beacon of unity and civic responsibility within and outside Nigeria.
Great Secretariat, Great!
