Dollar to Naira Exchange Rate Today, June 29, 2026: Nigerian currency extends depreciation to begin week
The Naira on Monday extended its depreciation streak against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market to begin the week on a negative note.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the naira weakened further to N1,383.63 per dollar on Monday, down from N1,380.93.
This means that the Nigerian currency dropped N2.7 on Monday compared to N1,380.93 exchanged last week.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1,395 per dollar on Monday, the same exchange rate traded at the close of work last Friday.
“We buy US dollars at N1385 and sell at N1395 per dollar,” a Bureau de change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, Bengazzi Abubakar, told DAILY POST on Monday.
The development comes as the country’s foreign reserves stood at $51.29 billion as of June 26th, 2026, according to the apex bank data.
