The ECOWAS Commission has held discussions with OTL Africa Downstream Development Africa Ltd/GTE on potential collaboration aimed at strengthening regional energy cooperation and advancing energy security across West Africa.
The President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, received a delegation from OTL Africa Downstream Development Africa Ltd/GTE in Abuja for talks focused on deepening institutional engagement with private sector stakeholders and promoting investment across the downstream energy value chain.
The engagement, according to a statement at the weekend, brought together senior officials of the ECOWAS Commission, including the Acting Secretary-General, Mr. Muazu Umaru; the Director of Cabinet in the Office of the President, Mr. Abdou Kolley; the Director of Communication, Mr. Joël Ahofodji; and the Acting Director of Energy and Mines, Mr. William Baidoe, alongside other officials of the Directorate of Communication.
Led by its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Joyce E.E.E. Akabogu, OTL Africa presented its 20-year experience in convening regulators, public institutions, private operators, investors, and industry experts to drive policy dialogue, investment facilitation, and structured cooperation within the downstream energy sector.
Both parties reaffirmed the importance of building strategic partnerships that align policy, business, and regional development priorities in support of ECOWAS Vision 2050 and broader economic integration goals across West Africa.
