Fayose Alleges Political Motive Behind Oyo School Abductions

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has stirred controversy with claims suggesting a possible political undertone in the recent school abductions in Oyo State.
Speaking during a public commentary, Fayose stated that he “sometimes believes” the abductions across three schools in the state may have been orchestrated in a way by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde. According to him, the alleged motive could be to blackmail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The remarks have sparked reactions across political and public spheres, with critics describing the statement as speculative and sensitive, given the gravity of insecurity issues affecting schools and communities.
Security experts and analysts have, however, cautioned against politicizing incidents of abduction, stressing the need for unified efforts to tackle rising insecurity rather than attributing blame without concrete evidence.
As of now, there has been no official response from the Oyo State Government regarding Fayose’s claims.
