Gov Fubara Submits 2026–2028 Fiscal Framework to Rivers Assembly

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has forwarded the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the Rivers State House of Assembly for consideration.

The Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhule, announced the submission during an emergency plenary session on Thursday, reading a letter from the governor conveying the three-year fiscal framework.

The sitting was the Assembly’s first plenary in over three months, following its last session, which focused on screening commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Fubara.

Before that meeting, the lawmakers had convened on January 8, when they commenced impeachment proceedings against the governor. The House subsequently adjourned and did not reconvene on its scheduled resumption date of January 15.

At the close of Thursday’s sitting, members of the Assembly postponed deliberations on the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework to a later date.
