Governor Sule Okays N500m To Tackle Child Malnutrition

Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, has approved the release of N500 million as counterpart funding to combat rising child malnutrition across the state.
The governor made the announcement Monday at Government House, Lafia, while receiving a UNICEF delegation led by Dr. Gerida Birukila, Chief of Field Office, Kaduna.
“This fund will strengthen our efforts to improve child health and nutrition. We remain committed to the well-being of our children and vulnerable groups,” Sule said.
Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, Executive Secretary of NAPHDA, led the delegation and thanked the governor for supporting the recent Integrated Health Camp.
He also presented a report on the outreach’s impact.
Dr. Birukila hailed the state’s commitment, saying the N500million would significantly boost nutrition outcomes for Nasarawa children.
Dr. Birukila noted that the visit reaffirmed the UNICEF-Nasarawa partnership on child health, nutrition, and family welfare.
