Iran’s Quds Force commander Esmaeil Qaani said a new “security belt” of resistance would extend from the Strait of Hormuz to the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and from the Gulf to the Red Sea.
In remarks carried by Iranian media, Qaani said: “The timely and decisive action of heroic Yemen shows the wisdom of the resistance front, and if necessary, others will also join.”
He added: “From the Strait of Hormuz to Bab al-Mandab, and from the Gulf to the Red Sea, there will be a new resistance security belt.”
The Quds Force commander said that “the actions of the Zionist entity and the United States in the region will trigger a response from a united resistance front”.

He added: “Fighters without borders oversee your vital shipping routes. Continue your aggression, and they will tighten their grip on you.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Yemen’s Houthi movement announced the start of what it described as a “full and comprehensive maritime blockade” on Israel in the Red Sea.
Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said that “all enemy movements have become military targets for our armed forces from the moment this statement was issued”.
He added: “We confirm that we will respond to escalation with escalation, and our military operations will intensify in line with developments on the ground and in coordination with the axis of jihad and resistance.”
