Week seven of MasterChef Nigeria challenged the top five contestants to reinvent popular Buka dishes. The task focused on Nigerian street food and local flavours. Guest judge Bukie Akinmade joined the panel to assess the dishes.
The contestants were asked to prepare two meals inspired by the taste and culture of Nigerian street food. Derry hoped to showcase her heritage through her cooking. However, the judges felt her dishes fell short of expectations. She was eventually eliminated from the competition.
Favy, despite holding the immunity pin, chose not to use it. Her Dubai Pistachio Puff Puff was criticised for being undercooked, placing her among the contestants at risk.
Fads also faced difficulties after running out of time and accidentally putting her hands into hot oil. Despite the setback, she completed the challenge and impressed the judges with her well-cooked chicken, securing her place in the competition.
David and Isabella delivered the strongest performances of the day. The judges praised Isabella for keeping her dish simple while meeting the challenge brief. 
David stood out for his presentation, flavour and creativity. His ability to elevate familiar street food favourites earned him the Dish of the Day award.
