NGO Unveils ‘Digital Pipeline’ Initiative For Nigerian Youth, Hits Landmark Of Over 100 Scholarship Target For Orphans

The Tunji Salami Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to social equity and economic transformation, has officially launched its “Global Tech Readiness” initiative.

This strategic program aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping vulnerable youth with high-demand skills for the international remote labor market.

The announcement in a statement by Maroof Olawale Salami, Director of Communications of the Foundation, comes as the Foundation commemorates a major humanitarian milestone: the successful delivery of full educational scholarships and mentorship packages to over 100 orphans and less privileged students in Osun state.

At the center of this expansion is the Tunji Salami Technological Hub. Originally conceived as a local training center, the Hub has been upgraded into a world-class innovation and incubation space, offering intensive training in software engineering, cloud computing, and AI-driven data analytics.

“Nigeria’s greatest export should not be its people, but its talent,” said a spokesperson for the Tunji Salami Foundation. “Our Tech Hub is a ‘Digital Pipeline’ designed to ensure that the Nigerian youth can compete for a global remote role as effectively as their counterparts in Bangalore or Berlin. We are providing the hardware, the high-speed connectivity, and the world-class curriculum to make this a reality.”

Beyond technological innovation, the Foundation is intensifying its support for widows, a demographic often marginalized by economic hardship and social stigma. The Foundation’s “Widow Empowerment 2.0” program has transitioned from providing temporary financial aid to a sustainable “Skill-to-Market” model.

Through this initiative, widows are provided with vocational mastery in specialized trades and micro-equity grants to launch their own enterprises. To date, the Foundation has impacted dozens of households, helping women regain financial autonomy and dignity in the face of overwhelming challenges.

With Nigeria’s youth unemployment challenges reaching a critical juncture, the Tunji Salami Foundation’s model of “Transformative Philanthropy” offers a scalable blueprint for community development.

By combining education for orphans, economic empowerment for widows, and tech-driven careers for the youth, the Foundation is tackling the root causes of systemic poverty.
