Oby Ezekwesili, Funke Akindele, Cubana Chief Priest, Others Honour Alex Ekubo At Service of Songs

Dignitaries, Nollywood Stars, Gospel musicians, Others showed love to late Alexx Ekubo’s Service of Songs.
Some of the dignitaries included former Nigerian Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, Funke Akindele, Ini Edo and Cubana Chief Priest.
The ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, June 10, at the Monarch Event Centre in the Lekki area of Lagos State, featured many public figures and celebrities.
Popular Nigerian pastors Ituah Ighodalo and Jerry Eze ministered at the event alongside gospel singers Peterson Okopi, Ebuka Songs, Moses Bliss, Mercy Chinwo, and the Laud Urban Choir, among others.
Celebrities at the event included actresses Funke Akindele, Dayo Amusan, Kate Henshaw, Omoni Oboli, Nancy Isime, Ini Edo, Blessing Nze, and Ruth Kadiri; actors Ike Ogbonna, Stan Nze, Kunle Remi, and Mike Godson; comedian AY; Yomi Casual; Frank Edoho; Cubana Chief Priest; Kcee; E-Money; Chike; and Nambam, among others.
Many spoke lovingly of Alex Ekubo, calling him friendly and taking on people’s burdens.
Ik Ogbonna spoke of Alex as a brother he had from another mother, who advised him as they playfully abused each other.
The late actor will be laid to rest in his hometown, Ujari Village, in Abia State on June 18, 2026.
