Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has banned students from bringing personal cars and motorcycles onto campus as part of new security measures introduced following a recent security breach.The decision was announced in a statement signed by the university’s Registrar, Mr. Siyaka Audu, after the institution’s 401st Regular Management Committee Meeting held on June 15, 2026.
Under the new directive, students are prohibited from bringing personal vehicles, including motorcycles, into the university until further notice. The institution also banned tinted vehicles, vehicles with concealed number plates, and all unregistered cars and motorcycles from entering the campus.To strengthen access control, the university stated that the main gate will be the only entry and exit point for vehicles, while all other gates will be restricted to pedestrian use.
The management also directed the Chief Security Officer to conduct a registration and identification exercise for commercial motorcycle operators on campus in collaboration with their union leaders. Plans are also underway to introduce solar-powered tricycles to support campus transportation services.
In addition, staff and students will be required to display valid identity cards while on campus. Vehicle owners will receive identification tallies, with a replacement fee of ₦5,000 for lost tags.
The university further announced that all visitors must undergo security screening before gaining access to the campus.PAAU also reiterated its ban on unauthorised student gatherings and end-of-examination celebrations, warning that violations could attract disciplinary measures, including the cancellation of examinations written on the affected day. Management said the measures are part of ongoing efforts to enhance security, prevent future incidents, and protect lives and property within the university community.
