An old video of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sharing a past encounter with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has resurfaced online and is currently gaining attention.

In the clip, President Tinubu recalled that Pastor Adeboye once described him as the “father of the nation,” a remark that has since sparked renewed reactions on social media.

The video shows Tinubu addressing Christian leaders, including members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), during a meeting in Kano State, where he narrated his interaction with the respected cleric.

He explained that during the ordination of his wife as a pastor in the Redeemed Church, he was present when Pastor Adeboye gave him the name “Abraham” and later explained its significance.

“The day my wife was ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Church, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me Abraham, I said what is the meaning? He said watch out, the father of nation,” Tinubu said in the footage.

The resurfacing of the video comes at a time when many Nigerians continue to express concerns over rising economic hardship and ongoing security challenges across the country.
