Police arrest 38-year-old man for beating father to death in Ondo

A 38-year-old man has been arrested by police operatives in Ondo State for allegedly beating his 65-year-old father to death.

Nsikak had engaged in a heated argument with his biological father, Peter Adone, at their residence in the Oda axis of the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, the deceased sustained severe injuries during the violent confrontation.

The police spokesperson disclosed that Adone later succumbed to his wounds despite efforts by medical personnel to revive him.

While stating that the remains of the deceased had been deposited in the morgue, Jimoh stressed that the son will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The PPRO said, “The tragic incident occurred in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State and has generated widespread concern among residents of the area.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that on 28th May, 2026, the suspect allegedly engaged his father in a violent altercation which escalated into a physical assault.

“Following a formal complaint lodged at the police station by one Daniel Moses, a son of the deceased and brother to the suspect, detectives promptly commenced investigation into the matter. Acting swiftly on the report, police operatives apprehended the suspect and took him into custody for questioning.”
