Nigerian billionaire businessman Keji Giwa has sparked widespread debate online following his public defence of his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The real estate mogul maintained that in Nigeria, business success and politics are deeply connected, arguing that it is unrealistic for entrepreneurs to separate the two.
According to him, business owners who fail to consider the influence of political decisions on their operations are likely to struggle. He stated that political structures often determine the direction and survival of enterprises in the country.
Giwa, addressing criticisms over his support for Tinubu, questioned why he should be condemned for his stance, adding that many of his critics do not understand the realities of sustaining a large business in Nigeria.
He further challenged those opposing his position, asking whether they would be ready to support his family financially if his business were to suffer setbacks.
In one of his more controversial remarks, Giwa said: “Whether Nigeria gets better or not, I am perfectly okay; in fact, I am banking on it not getting better.”
He also made statements touching on religion and personal beliefs, claiming he has accepted the consequences of his choices, even suggesting he is unconcerned about spiritual judgement. Additionally, he revealed a strict workplace rule in his company, stating that any employee who says “God will provide” risks immediate termination.
