Colombian music star Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats singer Burna Boy delivered a high-energy performance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night.
The duo thrilled the stadium crowd with a live performance of “Dai Dai,” the tournament’s official anthem. Shakira kicked off the set with her signature dance routines before Burna Boy joined her on stage to perform the Afrobeats-inspired track.
The performance took place under a massive turquoise-and-yellow flag covering the pitch, inscribed with the message: “We are ready.”
“Dai Dai” is tied to a global charity initiative. Proceeds from the track support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a project that aims to improve access to quality education worldwide.
