Social media platform X down for thousands of users, including those in S’pore: Downdetector

Tech trillionaire Elon Musk’s social media platform X appeared to be down, with thousands of users across the world, including those in Singapore, reporting disruptions on June 22.

There were more than 9,800 reports of issues with the platform as at 10.18am Eastern time (10.18pm Singapore time), according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.

X was down for more than 1,300 users in Canada as at 10.16am ET, and for more than 1,400 users in Britain as at 10.18am ET.

In Singapore, there were about 900 reports of issues with the platform at about 10.10pm.

Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources. The actual number of affected users may differ from what is shown, as the reports are submitted by users.

SpaceX, which owns X, did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment on what caused the outage. REUTERS
