The Super Eagles battled Poland to a hard-fought 2-2 draw in an international friendly on Wednesday, delivering a match full of excitement and last-minute twists in Warsaw.
Before the clash, Eric Chelle’s side successfully defended the Unity Cup title in London. They dominated the competition by cruising past Zimbabwe in the semifinals and then crushing Jamaica 3-0 in the final, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive strength.
Terem Moffi sparked joy for Nigeria when he finished a slick team move in the 23rd minute, sending the visitors into a well-deserved halftime lead.

However, Poland fought back strongly and leveled the score just before the break. Potulski struck in the 46th minute to restore parity at 1-1 and swing momentum toward the home team.
Nigeria regained command in the second half. Paul Onuachu stepped up confidently and converted a penalty in the 77th minute, firing the Super Eagles into a 2-1 advantage.
Yet, the visitors could not hold on. In dramatic stoppage time, Wiśniewski lashed home an equalizer in the 95th minute, forcing the game to end in a 2-2 stalemate and earning Poland a valuable point.
Eric Chelle and his squad now travel to Portugal for their next challenge. They will face the 2016 European champions, who have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
