Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has said the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, cannot be taken by his own words.
KeepLoss reports that Oshiomhole, in an interview with ‘Mic On Podcast’ on Sunday, pointed out that Peter Obi failed to keep his promise to stay put in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The lawmaker claimed that Peter Obi lacks a reputation, citing his alleged inability to manage and resolve party crises.
According to Oshiomhole, Peter Obi does not want to go through the first stage of the election but always wants to go where food is ready.
2. Iran Agrees US Peace Deal, To Reopen Strait Of Hormuz
Iran says it has agreed not to pursue a nuclear weapon and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the release of about $25 billion in frozen assets under a peace agreement reportedly brokered by US President Donald Trump.
Details of the proposed deal were released by Tehran on Sunday, with Iranian officials expressing cautious optimism that an end to more than three months of conflict could be within reach, according to the New York Postthe New York Post.

On Saturday, President Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said an agreement would be signed later today, June 14, and would lead to the immediate reopening of the strait.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson indicated that a breakthrough could come within days.
3. ‘The 11th Senate Will Not Be The 10th Senate’ – Oshiomhole Fires Warning Shot At Akpabio
Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has claimed that many senators in the 10th National Assembly are not satisfied with the leadership style of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
KeepLoss reports that Oshiomhole made the claim during the Mic On podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, in response to a question about becoming a threat to Akpabio.
The former Governor of Edo State said the Senate President is paranoid about everything, and if he had the means, he would have locked him out of the Senate.
Oshiomhole, however, warned that the situation is not just about him, and several other lawmakers are also disenchanted with Akpabio’s leadership style.
According to him, Akpabio should be ready to face a much different Senate after the 2027 elections when the 11th National Assembly emerges.
4. Family Reveals How General Abubakar Died, Says Wife Still In Bandits’ Custody
The family of the late retired Major General Rabe Abubakar has disclosed that he died from a snakebite while in the custody of bandits who had abducted him and his wife.
According to the family, earlier reports that he died from complications related to diabetes and hypertension were incorrect.
KeepLoss reports that family members who spoke to DW gave the fresh update, and clarified that his death was not linked to pre-existing health conditions.
The family also revealed that General Rabe’s wife, who was abducted alongside him by bandits, remains in captivity, contrary to some reports suggesting she had been released.
They, however, expressed concern over her continued detention and appealed for renewed efforts to secure her freedom.
5. Air Strikes Kill 27 Terrorists In Borno – NAF
The air component of Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai has neutralised 27 terrorists in separate air interdiction missions in Borno State.
KeepLoss reports that the strikes targeted terrorist enclaves in the Southern and Northern Tumbus areas of the state.
An operational report of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), made available on Sunday, said the missions followed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations across the theatre.
According to the report, air assets comprising Dragon and ISR platforms conducted an air interdiction mission at Dawoshe, a known terrorist enclave in the Southern Tumbus area, around 12:40 a.m. on June 10.
The report said terrorists’ vehicles were sighted during aerial surveillance and were later engaged by the aircraft.

Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has slammed the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, over his proposed condolence visit to states like Plateau and Benue following the current level of insecurity in the country.

Nigerian media personality cum Nollywood actress, Nancy Isime, has said she is not a ‘typical Nigerian Christian’ but has her own mindset like Jesus.

Nollywood actor, Mofe Duncan, has berated media personality, Daddy Freeze, over comments on Alex Ekubo’s service of songs.
KeepLoss reported that Daddy Freeze had called out gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, over the kind of songs she sang during the service of songs.
However, speaking in a lengthy post on Instagram, Duncan said the night was dedicated to Alex Ekubo, not to Daddy Freeze or anyone else.
He stated that while he generally avoids unrelated matters, he felt compelled to address what he described as a grave misstep.
Duncan clarified that the event was a night of tributes and a service of songs, not a funeral.
He said hymns were sung more than once during the ceremony, recalling an especially emotional rendition of “Blessed Assurance.”
He added that hymns are not limited to Catholic or Anglican denominations and questioned assumptions about Ekubo’s church affiliation.
According to Duncan, the gathering was also a night of worship, with members of Ekubo’s inner circle repeatedly stating that the late actor loved to worship.

Germany opened their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign in emphatic fashion with a 7-1 victory over tournament debutants Curaçao, but the Caribbean nation still carved out a slice of history by scoring their first-ever World Cup goal.
Playing in their maiden appearance at football’s biggest tournament, Curaçao stunned the four-time world champions midway through the first half when Livano Comenencia found the net in a landmark moment for the nation of just 156,000 people, the smallest country ever to qualify for a FIFA World Cup.
The historic strike came in the 21st minute and briefly silenced Germany after an electric start from Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Germany had gone ahead after only six minutes when Felix Nmecha curled home from the edge of the area following a neat exchange with Florian Wirtz. 10. Real Madrid Agree Deal For Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella
Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella in a deal worth €60 million (£51.7m), bringing an end to the Spaniard’s four-year stay at Stamford Bridge.
The agreement includes a fixed fee of €55m, with a further €5m tied to performance-related add-ons. While the final paperwork is yet to be completed, the transfer is expected to be formally concluded early next week.
Marc Cucurella, 27, is currently away with Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. However, all parties have already reached a verbal agreement for the move.
The left-back joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion for £63m in 2022 and went on to make 150 appearances for the Blues. During his time in west London, he helped the club win the Conference League and Club World Cup in 2025.
