30 Killed in Fresh Attack on Southern Kaduna Community

At least 30 people, including eight children, have reportedly been killed in an attack by suspected armed assailants on Naridon community in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The attack reportedly occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday, when the assailants invaded the community, firing at residents and setting homes and shops ablaze.
The Secretary to the Village Head of Naridon, Dogon Rana, who confirmed the incident in a telephone interview on Monday, said 30 deaths had been recorded, while four injured residents were receiving medical treatment. He said some residents were still missing and expressed concern that the death toll could rise.
Rana said several buildings, including residential houses and business premises, were destroyed during the attack. He also appealed for improved road infrastructure, saying the poor condition of the access route had hampered emergency response. Another resident, who spoke anonymously for security reasons, alleged that the attack lasted for about three hours before security personnel arrived. The claim could not be independently verified.
The resident also alleged that 22 members of one family were among those killed and called for increased security deployment in the area. The attack has renewed concerns over insecurity in parts of Southern Kaduna, with community leaders calling for stronger security measures and improved emergency response.As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
