Alleged Illegal Mining: Group Seeks NSCDC Marshall Interventions

A community association named Amalokpa development association ( ADA) Ivon local government Eboniyi state has called on the Nigerian security and civil defense corps commandant general particularly the head of mining marshalls to wade into alleged illegal mining activities going on in their community .

In a statement signed by the community Chairman Mr Ajah Friday, the group petitions one alleged illegal mining company greenfields metals owned by one Henry Ahanato who according to group is allegedly sponsoring unrest amounting to destruction of property to pave way for the alleged company illegal mining.

The group also urged the mining marshalls to order the company to vacate Ekubara land allegedly taken over forcefully by the Company without the consent and approval of the community.

ADA also demands public apology to the people of the community through national dailies and recognize television stations for the company’s alleged sponsorship of arson leading to destruction of property belonging to the company.

The group also demanded compensation of three billion naira from the company for unprovoked alleged attack and destruction of land in the company.

They urged the NSCDC Marshall to as a matter of urgency wade into the situation before it escalate by investigating the activities of the mining company.
