Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has criticised the government’s approach to addressing economic challenges, arguing that policies centred around basic food items and temporary relief measures are signs of a failing administration.

Sowore made the statement while expressing concerns over what he described as poor economic planning and unrealistic budget implementation in the country.

According to him, any government that begins to promote items such as kulikuli, agbado, and akara as major policy solutions is already losing touch with the realities faced by Nigerians.

“Any regime you see that starts picking kulikuli, Agbado and akara as their policy, you’ll know that regime is already on their way out and we owe them a duty to get them out so that the country can breathe and the poor can breathe and our country will not be operating three fake budgets,” Sowore said.

The activist argued that Nigerians deserve policies that provide lasting solutions rather than what he described as symbolic gestures that fail to address widespread hardship.

Sowore further maintained that leaders must be held accountable for economic decisions affecting citizens, adding that the country requires genuine reforms to improve living conditions and restore confidence in governance.
