Charles Barkley Reveals Why He Declined Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Invitation

Charles Barkley has revealed why he chose not to attend the lavish wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, despite receiving an invitation to the star-studded ceremony.
Speaking on the Unfiltered With Ricky Bo & Bill Colarulo podcast, the NBA Hall of Famer said he politely declined the invitation because he thought the wedding would be “a crap show.” He added that he’d rather spend his time playing golf than attend a large, formal event.
“I don’t go to weddings or funerals,” Barkley said. “But I did get an invite, and I politely declined because I thought it was going to be a crap show. I love Travis and Jason Kelce, and I’ve only met Taylor one time, but yeah, I did get an invite.”
Barkley explained that he preferred spending his time playing golf rather than attending a high-profile celebration.
“I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up and all that other stuff,” he added. “But I appreciate the invitation. It was pretty special.”
Barkley was not the only guest who missed the July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden. Television host Ryan Seacrest also revealed he had intended to attend but had to cancel after being called upon to host the July 4 America 250 celebrations.
The couple’s wedding reportedly welcomed more than 1,000 guests, with celebrities including Jack Antonoff, Dakota Johnson, Mariska Hargitay, Tate McRae, Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Jessica Alba, Gracie Abrams, Gigi Hadid, Sabrina Carpenter, Maren Morris, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Paul McCartney, Tom Brady, Jason Sudeikis and Chris Rock.
According to reports, Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, while Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks performed during the reception.
