Deyemi Okanlawon Opens Up About Fatherhood And The Childhood Lesson That Shaped Him

Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has shared how his childhood experiences influenced the kind of father and husband he has become, revealing that he is intentional about giving his children the emotional support he felt was missing while growing up.

Speaking about marriage, the actor described it as a journey of growth that teaches valuable life lessons about responsibility and maturity. He also credited his church background and the mentorship of Poju Oyemade for helping shape his perspective on relationships.

According to Deyemi, people should focus on becoming the best version of themselves instead of searching for a partner, noting that personal growth often attracts healthier and more compatible relationships.

The actor also spoke warmly about fatherhood, saying raising his three sons has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life. Although he is often encouraged to try for a daughter, he said he is content with his family and believes he will one day have a daughter-in-law through his boys.

“My first son is about to be 10 years old, and he is the first of three. Being a father of boys is the most extraordinary thing. They keep telling me that I need to have a girl, but I am okay. I will have a daughter through my sons,” he said.
