Don’t Forget God When Success Comes – Davido Advises Upcoming Artistes

- Davido has advised upcoming musicians to believe in themselves, work hard, and remain close to God even after becoming successful.
- Speaking during an interview, the Afrobeats star warned that fame comes with many distractions and urged artistes not to forget that God is the reason for their success.
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged aspiring musicians to remain committed to God even after achieving fame and success.
The award-winning singer gave the advice during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, where he reflected on the importance of hard work, self-belief, and faith in building a successful career in the music industry.
Davido noted that while talent and dedication are essential, staying close to God becomes even more important after attaining success because of the numerous distractions that come with fame.
His remarks come at a time when several celebrities, particularly Christians, have publicly admitted that they stopped attending church or became less active in their faith after becoming famous.
Encouraging young artistes to remain focused on their dreams, Davido said aspiring musicians must first believe in themselves and continuously improve their craft.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.
The singer also emphasised the need to remain grounded in faith after achieving success, warning that fame can easily cause people to lose sight of what truly matters.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” Davido added.
