In a gesture of mutual cooperation and peacebuilding, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Bashir Albishir Bukar Machinama, the Emir of Machina, hosted the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Yobe State Command, CP Usman Kamfani Jibrin, during a courtesy visit at his palace in Machina.
The Commissioner, who recently assumed his duties, used this opportunity to urge the people of Machina Emirate and the wider Yobe State to maintain peace and collaborate with security agencies. He emphasized the importance of steering clear of drug abuse, particularly among the youth, as part of efforts to foster a secure and stable society.
CP Jibrin also called for peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders, advising both parties to engage in dialogue to resolve disputes amicably during the current rainy season, thus enhancing both harmony and agricultural productivity.
Welcoming the Commissioner, the Emir of Machina expressed his pleasure at the visit and reiterated the Emirate’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advance peace and security. He conveyed his prayers for the Commissioner’s success and divine guidance in his new role, and wished him a safe journey as he returned to his duties.
The visit underscored the ongoing efforts between traditional authorities and state security forces to strengthen community ties and ensure the safety and well-being of residents throughout the region.
