First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Empowers 800 Women, Inaugurates Kogi Treasury House and Health Centre

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday empowered more than 800 women in Kogi State and inaugurated two public projects during a one-day visit to Lokoja.The First Lady inaugurated the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House and the Primary Healthcare Centre at Lokongoma Phase I, describing both projects as important investments in public service delivery and healthcare.

She commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for prioritising infrastructure, healthcare and other people-centred initiatives, urging residents to protect and make good use of the facilities. At the Government House, Lokoja, Tinubu also flagged off the distribution of empowerment materials and start-up grants to over 800 women under the Renewed Hope Initiative.

According to her, the programme is designed to complement government efforts by supporting women, youths, children and persons with disabilities through social intervention programmes that promote self-reliance and economic empowerment.She encouraged beneficiaries to use the support to grow their businesses, improve their livelihoods and contribute to their communities.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo thanked the First Lady for her visit and for extending the Renewed Hope Initiative to Kogi State. He pledged that his administration would continue investing in healthcare, infrastructure and other essential public services while ensuring the newly inaugurated facilities are properly maintained.The visit also featured interactions with women’s groups, community leaders and beneficiaries of the empowerment programme.
