The First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has expressed appreciation to the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar for his continued support and constant guidance to the administration of President Bola Tinubu since inception.
She spoke at the palace of the Sultan during her visit to the monarch in Sokoto.
The First Lady who went nostalgic about the long years of relationship between the two families noted that the Sultan is always pointing the administration in the right direction.
In a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, Senator Tinubu explained that the visit was to thank the Sultan.
The First Lady was received on arrival at the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport by Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, alongside the Deputy Governor, Engr. Idris Muhammad Gobir, members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers, and other top government officials.
In his remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, commended the First Lady for her various interventions through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) which he noted has touched the lives of millions of Nigerians.
He noted that as leaders, there is a need to keep seeking divine intervention especially for those group of people who have been perpetrating evil in the land, adding that his prayer is that such people would come to true repentance and live appropriately.
Sokoto State governor, Dr Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, thanked Senator Tinubu for the visit to the revered monarch, reechoing the impact of the RHI in the lives of Nigerians.
He described the various interventions as people centered, aimed at improving the lives of women, youth, children and families in general.
The Sultan of Sokoto then asked Ulama’s to lead prayers for the nation, the president, the first lady, the state governor, himself and Sokoto State as a whole.
