‘Get Off The High Of Your Rabid Movement’ — Presidency Fires Back At Obi

The Presidency has accused the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, of deliberately overlooking the achievements recorded by President Bola Tinubu’s administration while criticising the government.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the allegation in a statement issued on Monday, insisting that the Tinubu administration has implemented several transformative projects, policies and programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda since assuming office.
Onanuga said Obi had chosen to ignore the administration’s accomplishments for political reasons while continuing to fault the government.
His reaction followed Obi’s remarks during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, where the former Anambra State governor described the Tinubu administration’s policies as “renewed hopelessness,” alleging that they had worsened the living conditions of Nigerians and pushed more citizens into poverty.
Responding, Onanuga said Obi’s assessment did not reflect the reality of developments across the country, maintaining that Nigerians were benefiting from democratic governance under President Tinubu and that the economy was on a path to recovery.
He wrote, “On Peter Obi’s outburst over the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda: Obi needs to get off the high of his rabid movement. The unmistakable trail of Renewed Hope shimmers across all villages, towns, cities, and local government areas in all six geopolitical zones. The Presidential Communication Team has been touring all zones to see things for themselves, feel the pulse of Nigerians, and conduit feedback to the government.
“If Obi cares, there’s a digital binder full of reports of Nigeria’s economic turnaround under the current administration, inclusive of many transformative projects, policies, and programmes, such as NELFUND, that are impacting Nigerians at the critical cellular level.”
