Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde has addressed the recent speculation surrounding his relationship with actress Funke Akindele and skit maker Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State.

The actor dismissed claims that Kamo State took his place in Funke Akindele’s inner circle, revealing that he was actually the person who introduced the skit maker to the filmmaker.

Makinde made the clarification during a recent interview on Yanga 89.9 FM, which was shared on YouTube on Monday, July 20, 2026. He explained that he was surprised by the narrative circulating online because it did not reflect the reality of events.

“It was through me Kamo State met Actress Funke Akindele,” Makinde stated. “I see when lots of people were saying it was Kamo that took my place at Madam Funke Akindele’s side.”

While the actor chose not to discuss the details of his current relationship with Funke Akindele, he urged people not to form conclusions based solely on social media conversations.

Makinde also spoke positively about Kamo State, recalling how their relationship began. According to him, the skit maker was the one who first reached out to him through social media before they eventually connected.
