Makinde appoints SUBEB chairman to lead Oyo presidential, governorship campaign council

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, as his presidential campaign coordinator in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Makinde also named Adeniran as the Director-General of the Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, the campaign council will coordinate the party’s activities ahead of the 2027 elections in Oyo State.
The APM has nominated former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bimbo Adekanmbi, who served under the administration of the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
The statement also announced other key appointments to the campaign council.
Former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Mr Saheed Arowosaye, was named deputy coordinator, while the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Demola Ojo, will serve as Deputy Director-General (South).
Olanrewaju disclosed that Governor Makinde, who is the APM’s presidential candidate, is expected to formally inaugurate the campaign council on Friday at the conference room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
The inauguration is expected to kick-start the party’s campaign structure in Oyo State as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
