A man has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force after he allegedly threw his two children from a three-storey building and attempted to throw his wife before reportedly falling himself in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The shocking incident occurred on Thursday in Umuobe, near Barracks Junction, along Opobo Road, where eyewitnesses said the suspect allegedly threw his two children from the upper floor of the building before attempting to push his wife. During the incident, he reportedly fell from the building and was later found lying unconscious but still breathing with a head injury.
The two children were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment. Magic FM Aba independently confirmed that both children survived the fall, although details of their medical condition were not immediately available.
Residents who witnessed the incident alerted the authorities, prompting officers of the Nigeria Police Force to arrive at the scene at about 6:22 p.m. to take control of the situation.
The suspect was later taken into police custody at about 6:32 p.m. after reportedly resisting arrest. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
