The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has raised concerns over what has been described as a fraudulent plan to assemble women in the Owerre-Ezukala community of Orumba South Local Government Area under the pretence of her visiting the area.
In a press release issued by the Senior Media Aide to the Governor of Anambra State, Ezeigwe Daniel, it was stated that the Governor’s wife was unaware of the motive behind the deception but warned residents against gathering, noting that the message circulating on various WhatsApp groups is false.
The statement explained that attention had been drawn to a message being circulated on certain WhatsApp groups claiming that Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo was scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala on an undisclosed date and urging community members to assemble at the Okegbe Health Centre to receive her.
Members of the public, particularly residents of Owerre-Ezukala, were advised to completely disregard the message and avoid forwarding or acting on unverified information, as it did not originate from the Governor’s wife or the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.
The statement further clarified that the Governor’s wife’s activities and official engagements are only communicated through verified channels and authorised announcements, and urged the public to verify information before sharing it, in order to avoid spreading misinformation and causing unnecessary confusion or anxiety.
