Ogbeha, Igbinedion Expresses Excitement Over Anglican Communion Knighthood Conferment

A former military governor of old Bendel State now Edo and Delta states, Brigadier-General Tunde Ogbeha and former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion have been invested with the Knights of St. Augustine and Knight of Christopher respectivley by the Bishop of Benin Diocese, Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen.
The investiture was part of a major Episcopal service that also marked the celebration of the 65th birthday of the Bishop of Benin, the Right Reverend Peter Imasuen.
Both former governors expressed deep excitement and gratitude to the Anglican Communion, emphasizing that the prestigious honor is a fresh call to duty and service in the vineyard of the Lord.
Ogbeha who was knighted alongside his wife Dame Esther Ogbeha said “We are soldiers of Christ so we must serve the Lord, assist the diocese, assist the church and assist the bishop.”
He said his investiture as a Knight of St Augustine, marked another significant milestone of his spiritual life, which would stimulate and deepen his relationship with God.
Ogbeha later became a senator who represented Kogi West in Nigeria’s red Chamber and his tenure was marked with impactful and visionary leadership with different projects in his constituency.
At the St Matthew Cathedral, Benin City which was the venue of the investiture dignitaries including the Iyase of Benin kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe, Esama of Benin Kingdom, Sir Gabriel Igbinedion among others who were present at the ceremony.
The Bishop of Edo and Delta Dioceses of the Methodist Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Nosakhare Nosayaba in his homily admonished the congregation to be steadfast in their faith in God, despite the socio Economic predicament bedevilling the country.
He also congratulated the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Benin ,The Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen on his 65th birthday celebration and those invested into the knighthood for their new journey of being defenders in God’s kingdom.
The Chancellor, Diocese of Benin, Hon. Justice Efe Ikponmwoba administered the oath of allegiance on the knights while certificates which gave legal backing to their investiture were presented to the knights, including sir senator Tunde Ogbeha.
