Ondo Police Arrests 4 Cops At Checkpoint

Ondo State Police Command has arrested 4 officers caught on a viral video clip on social media making unprofessional utterances at a checkpoint alongside Lagos/Benin Expressway whereas partaking a motorist.

Addressing journalists on the event on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, the Command’s Spokesman, Abayomi Jimoh, a Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP), disclosed that the 4 officers who appeared within the video have been arrested.

He stated the Police Commissioner has ordered an intensive investigation into the incident to find out the extent of culpability of every of the officers within the alleged unethical behaviour.

The Police Public Relations Officer stated: “On a viral video circulating on social media displaying some cops on stop-and-search obligation alongside the Lagos –Benin Expressway allegedly making unprofessional and ethnically insensitive remarks to a member of the general public, the Command needs to tell most of the people that the officers captured within the video have been arrested.

“They’re recognized as AP/No. 207454 ASP Elomore Sodayo, AP/No. 332012 Inspector Adefila Adewale, AP/No. 332449 Inspector Olorunfemi Opeyemi, and AP/No. 332369 Inspector Odusola Peter.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, PSC, mnips, mspsp, has ordered a complete investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and decide the extent of culpability of every officer concerned.”
