“Only God Knows What I Would Have Become If I Didn’t Escape”- Lady Alleges Past Encounter With Odogwu Asaba

A lady identified as Nnenna has come forward with her own account involving filmmaker and content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, following his recent arrest over an alleged rape case.

Sharing her story on X (formerly Twitter), Nnenna recalled an incident she said took place in 2018, claiming she narrowly escaped an encounter that could have had devastating consequences.

According to her, Ogbonna was a regular customer at a shop in Ochanja Market, Onitsha, where she worked at the time.

Reflecting on the experience, she wrote:

“Ifeanyi Ogbonna aka Odogwu Asaba. April 12, 2018. Only God knows what I would have turned into if I didn’t escape. Maybe a bitter soul, a walking dead or an actual dead person.

But I escaped him. Very young & naive me. He used to be one of our regular customer. Whenever he came to buy goods at Ochanja Mkrt, Onitsha, mostly Mondays & Fridays, he’d stop by our store to eat. He’d eat, pay and tip me.

Naive me couldn’t tell the difference between customer kindness and crossed boundaries.”

In another post, Nnenna reacted strongly to the allegations currently facing the content creator, stating:

“May the universe be against anyone who sympathizes with or defends this horny vulture. He isn’t remorseful. He isn’t sorry.”

She further alleged that Ogbonna was particularly interested in virgins, writing:

“He’s so obsessed with virgins. ‘It won’t pain you.’ ‘There’s always a first time for everything.’ Ifeanyi should be killed.”

Nnenna also expressed regret that she did not have access to the technology and social media tools that are common today, saying they could have helped her document what she claimed happened.

She wrote:

“How I wish I had the phone capabilities and social media awareness back in 2018 that we have today. Gathering evidence or recording videos would have been so much easier.”

Her claims emerged shortly after Ogbonna’s arrest in connection with an alleged rape case that has drawn widespread public attention. At the time of filing this report, law enforcement authorities are still investigating the allegations, and no court has determined his guilt. The claims made by Nnenna and others remain allegations pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
