Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said the Osun All Progressives Congress, APC, is suffering from acute political depression after failing to stop his administration’s infrastructure projects across the state.
The Governor stated this in a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, after touring nine local government areas where he commissioned projects ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
“I have toured nine local governments. The massive show of support is astounding. Osun people appreciate our various projects from Osogbo to Iwo to Ila to Ilesa to Ile Ife. Where Osun APC failed, my administration performed, and our people are testifying,” Adeleke said.
He accused the opposition of attempting to frustrate his developmental agenda, alleging that over N350 billion of Osun local government funds were diverted in a bid to stop major projects.
“Osun APC tried to stop our state from developing. The opposition diverted over N350 billion of Osun local government money in its bid to stop execution of major projects. Today, we completed the projects, and we are commissioning them to the glory of God and humanity,” he added.
The Governor defended the quality and process of the projects, saying his administration adopted best engineering practices and complied with due process under a local content policy.
“We adopted the best engineering practices. Our procurement process was compliant with the law and due process, and our local engineers, suppliers and technicians did fantastic jobs all over the state. We deliver quality projects alongside a maintenance package for lasting usage,” he said.
Adeleke further claimed the APC was in disarray following its inability to halt his projects, noting that the party was losing members to the Accord Party daily.
“Ever since the Osun APC failed to stop our developmental agenda, the party has fallen into disarray. It suffers from acute political depression. Its leaders are quitting on a daily basis and defecting to Accord. But Osun people are jumping to the streets to welcome us wherever we go in the state,” he said.
The Governor listed Iwo, Ifelodun, Boripe, Odo Otin, Ejigbo, Atakumosa, Ife South, Ayedire and Olaoluwa as some of the local governments he visited, and promised to reach other towns soon.
He also warned residents against what he described as psychological warfare by the opposition ahead of the poll.
“I charge the Osun people to reject the current psychological warfare being waged by the Osun APC. Don’t hand out your PVC to anybody. Don’t drop your NIN. These are plots to swindle and disenfranchise you,” Adeleke cautioned.
He urged voters to come out on August 15 and defend their votes.
“On August 15th, our votes, your votes, will count. Nobody can rig this election. Your vote will determine the winner. I task Osun people to ignore all the rumours and get ready to vote and defend their votes next month,” the governor said.

OSUN Defender reports that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship Campaign Council slammed Governor Ademola Adeleke over the commissioning of the Iwo township road, alleging that the project was awarded to an unqualified contractor and is already deteriorating.
The Head of Media and Publicity Committee, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, in a statement, described the 3.6-kilometre road from Odo-Ori Market to Oja-Oba as “substandard, cosmetic plastering” that does not meet the standard expected by residents of Iwo.
According to the party, portions of the road had started collapsing and were subjected to emergency patching before the governor officially commissioned it.
The Council said awarding the project to Showie-Tee Global Services Ltd, which it described as an interior decoration firm, instead of a certified engineering company, compromised the job from inception.
“It is a shame that a road meant to last decades was already giving way and being patched before the Governor arrived with his entourage,” the statement said.
