Oyo Abduction: ‘Bring Out CCTV Of Kidnappers’ – Aisha Yesufu Challenges FG

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has challenged authorities to release CCTV footage of the kidnappers responsible for the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State.

Yesufu made the demand in a post shared on her verified X account in the early hours of Saturday.

She was reacting to a statement by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who asked the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, to apologise to airport authorities and pay a N25,000 fine over an alleged violation of parking regulations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Keyamo had released details of an internal investigation into the incident, including CCTV footage, while dismissing Obi’s claim that he was being unfairly targeted by the Federal Government.

Obi had recently alleged in an interview that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government was frustrating him and that he faces harassment on a daily basis.

Reacting, Yesufu criticised the government’s priorities, urging security agencies to focus on tackling insecurity rather than publicising the airport incident.

“Pathetic cowards! Let them bring out the CCTV of the kidnappers that took away children in Oyo or of the ones that have been terrorising citizens.

“Majoring in the minor is all they are freaking good at,” she wrote.
