Management of the College of Nursing Sciences, Jalingo, has announced the immediate lifting of the suspension previously placed on student union activities within the institution, effectively restoring full operations of both the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and the Taraba State Students’ Union (TASSU).
In an official notice issued on Monday, the college disclosed that the decision followed due deliberation and review by management, which approved the reinstatement of all previously halted student union engagements on campus.
The notice stated that, with immediate effect from July 6, 2026, all activities that had earlier been prohibited including meetings, gatherings, and union-organised programmes under the SUG and TASSU had been formally reinstated.
The directive effectively brings to an end the period of suspension that had restricted student political and organisational activities within the college premises.
Management, however, cautioned that the resumption of union activities must be carried out in an orderly and peaceful manner, urging students and union executives to strictly adhere to the institution’s rules and regulations, with emphasis on lawful conduct in all their engagements.
The notice also expressed appreciation to students for their cooperation throughout the suspension period, noting that their compliance had helped maintain stability within the institution. Management further expressed hope that the return of union activities would foster normalcy and decorum on campus going forward.
The announcement was signed by the Registrar of the College and copied to key administrative officials, including the Provost, Deputy Provost, Deputy Registrar, Dean of Students’ Affairs, the SUG President, and the TASSU Coordinator.
